While all paintings can be broken down to these basic elements, Jesse’s art combines them in new and novel ways.
His paintings are a pairing of both common spray paint and phosphorescent mixtures that glow in the dark, imbuing his pieces with optical transcendence.
Unlike most paintings, which literally disappear in the dark, Jesse’s art manifests itself when the lights are turned off, revealing entirely different and otherwise unseen depths.
Moreover, Jesse’s technique is not constrained by conventional or expected applications. To create some of his works, for example, he uses a firearm to cover a canvas in color.
He also teases and tortures the very chemical make-up of the paint by subjecting it to the fundamental forces of nature, sometimes setting the canvas on fire or exposing it to the elements, in order to achieve his desired result.
In the end, each of Jesse’s pieces are unique and irreplicable, with every swirl and splatter a spectral remnant of its own violent and inspired creation.
